RPNow-Could Not Initialize a Required Component

If you receive the below error "Remote Proctor Now cannot continue since it could not initialize a required component...." you will need to turn on the User Account Control in Windows. 

Failed Initialize

Windows 7

1. Click the Windows Start Button

2. Select Control Panel

3. In the Upper Right Corner of the Control Panel Window change the "View by:" drop down to "Small Icons"

4. Open the User Accounts icon

5. Click "Change User Account Control Settings"

6. Move the slider bar up to one of the top 3 positions. If the slider bar is in the bottom position you will continue to receive the error message.

7. Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

8. Retry the Remote Proctor Now exam

 

Windows 8, 8.1, 10

1.  Press the  + X keys and release.

2.  A list of options will open. Select "Control Panel" from the list.

3. In the Upper Right Corner of the Control Panel Window change the "View by:" drop down to "Small Icons"

7. Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

8. Retry the Remote Proctor Now exam
