Remote Proctor Browser-When trying to install the Remote Proctor on Windows I receive a blank screen and I am unable to get Silverlight to install

If you receive a blank screen when navigating to the install site and you are unable to get Silverlight to install on a Windows PC please follow the steps below under each Method.

Method 1

Enable Silverlight in Internet Explorer

  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. Open Tools (NOTE: If you don't see "Tools" click the Gear Icon in the top right)
  3. IE Tools

  4. Select Internet Options
  5. Select Programs
  6. Internet Options

  7. Select Manage Add-Ons
  8. Under "Show" change the drop down to "All Add-ons" 
  9. Scroll down and click Silverlight to highlight it
  10. Select Enable at the bottom
  11. ManageAddons

  12. Restart Internet Explorer

Method 2

Install using Internet Explorer (64-bit) on Windows 64-bit Operating Systems

  1. Click Start
  2. Click All Programs
  3. You will see two versions of Internet Explorer-Internet Explorer and Internet Explorer (64-bit)
  4. Open Internet Explorer

You should now be able to install Silverlight and continue through to install the Remote Proctor. If you are still unable to get Silverlight to install please try the steps below.

  1. Click Start
  2. Click Computer
  3. Navigate to to C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore
  4. NOTE: Please ensure that you select Program Files (x86)

This will ensure that you open the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer.
