RPNow-Adobe Flash Player issues blocking access to my Microphone/Camera or I am getting a Blank Screen

If you encounter an issue with Adobe Flash Player or are unable to get your camera to load, please try the steps below.

Windows Operating Systems:

Method 1:

  1. Open Google Chrome
  2. Install the latest version of the Flash Player plugin here
  3. Uncheck the box under the “Optional Offer”
  4. Click Download Now
  5. Select Run
  6. Follow the on screen prompts until you click "Finish" at the end of the Adobe Flash Installation.

After completing Method 1 please attempt to take the RPNow exam. If you still receive a blank screen, please proceed to Method 2.

Method 2:

  1. Open Google Chrome
  2. Type chrome:plugins in the address bar and click enter
  3. Locate the Adobe Flash Player Listing and select enable
  4. Select Always Allow
  5. Close the screen

After completing Method 2 please attempt to take the RPNow exam. If you still receive a blank screen, please proceed to Method 3.

Method 3:

  1. Click Start Menu and Select Control Panel
    • Windows 8 and Windows 10: Right click start menu and select Control Panel
  2. Select “System and Security”
    • The drop down in the upper-right corner needs to show "View by: Category"
  3. Flash Settings
  4. Select “Flash Player”Flash Settings 2
  5. Under the Storage Tab, change the radio button from “Block all sites…” to “Ask me before…”Flash Settings 3
  6. Under the Camera and Mic Tab, change the radio button from “Block all sites…” to “Ask me when…”Flash Settings 5
  7. Click "Camera and Microphone Settings by Site..."Click on www.remoteproctor.com and change the drop down to "Allow"
  8. Settings by site
  9. Click on www.remoteproctor.com and change the drop down to "Allow"Flash Site
  10. Close and restart your browser window to make sure the changes take effect

If you followed the above steps and continue to experience issues with a Blank Screen or Flash not loading properly for Windows 8, please contact us back for further troubleshooting. 

Mac OSX:

Method 1:

  1. Open Safari
  2. Navigate to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
  3. Uncheck the box next to "Yes, install Google Toolbar"
  4. Click Download Now
  5. Select Run
  6. Follow the on screen prompts until you click "Finish" at the end of the Adobe Flash Installation.

Method 2:

  1. Open your System Preferences
  2. Under “Other”, select Flash Player
  3. Under the “Storage” tab, change the radio button from “Block all sites…” to “Ask me before…”
  4. Under the “Camera and Mic” tab, change the radio button from “Block all sites…” to “Ask me when…”
  5. Quit and restart Safari the window to make sure the changes take effect
